OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/12/2022, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted a traffic stop in the Davis Homes area of Macon. The driver continued driving and deputies escalated a pursuit. During the encounter, Johntavious Solomon fired shots toward deputies. Deputies did not discharge their weapons. Solomon later shot himself and was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries on 10/14/2022.
