OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/31/2022, Pennsylvania State Police troopers responded to a domestic dispute call in Fawn Township. Upon arrival, troopers encountered Zachary John Cervice directing a firearm at officers and refusing commands to drop the weapon. Troopers fired multiple shots, striking Cervice. Following a review by Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr., it was determined that the use of deadly force by the troopers was justified after investigation of the evidence and circumstances. No criminal charges were filed in connection with the shooting.
