OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 11/12/2022, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire at SW Charlotte Street and SW Shores Avenue south of Arcadia. Deputies located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds and provided medical aid, but he died from his injuries. A female victim fled from a nearby residence with gunshot wounds and was transported for treatment. Deputies secured the home and deployed the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team to clear it. Inside, deputies located a man who had shot himself. He died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound during the homicide investigation. Officials did not publicly release his name at the time of reporting.
