OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 11/11/2022, Indiana State Police and the Posey County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence in Posey County to arrest Brian Heinsohn, who had been placed on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s most-wanted list in connection with rape and sexual assault charges. When officers arrived and knocked on the door, they reported hearing a gunshot from inside the home. Officers secured the area and later entered the residence under a search warrant. Inside, officers found Heinsohn dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His death occurred as law enforcement was attempting to take him into custody on the outstanding charges.
