On 12/06/2022, the Greeneville Police Department attempted to serve an arrest warrant on a suspect in a child rape investigation at a residence on Bradley Avenue in Greeneville. When officers arrived and made contact, the man, later identified as 36-year-old Juan De Dios Leyea-Marcial, shot himself. He was pronounced dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
