On 12/28/2022, Tallahassee Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 6500 block of Cedar Chase Way. According to police, a man inside the residence had a gun and made threats. Officers encountered the man during the response and opened fire. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from gunshot wounds. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement conducted the investigation into the shooting.
