On 09/07/2023, federal marshals and local law enforcement officers responded to Stinking Creek Road in Knox County to serve a warrant. Officers encountered an adult male who refused to surrender and remained inside a residence, prompting a standoff. Authorities established a perimeter and attempted negotiations. During the standoff, the man shot himself. He died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officials confirmed one firearm was involved. Authorities did not release the man’s name due to the manner of death. Kentucky State Police are investigating the incident.
