OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/20/2023, Cleveland police officers and a SWAT team responded to the 3700 block of East 55th Street for an armed barricade situation. Henry McNight, 59, remained inside a residence while officers established a perimeter and attempted to negotiate. Police deployed SWAT resources during the standoff. During the confrontation with officers outside, McNight shot himself. He died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities reported one firearm was involved. The Cleveland Division of Police is reviewing the incident.
