OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/12/2023, Modesto police responded to a domestic disturbance at 3733 Havenhurst Court. Officers learned that 50-year-old Donovan Robert Halstead had shot his 8-year-old daughter, Sigrid Halstead, inside the residence. Police surrounded the home and established a perimeter. During the standoff, Halstead shot himself. Officers entered the residence and located both father and daughter dead from gunshot wounds. Authorities recovered a firearm inside the home. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
