On 07/09/2023, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic violence call in the 100 block of NW 52nd Court in Oakland Park. Authorities reported that 64-year-old Richard Lee Hannan shot a woman during the dispute, critically injuring her. Deputies surrounded the residence and attempted to make contact. During the confrontation with law enforcement, Hannan shot himself. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The injured woman was transported for medical treatment.
