OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/21/2023, San Diego police responded to a domestic violence call on Cadet Street in the Clairemont area. Officers attempted to contact a man involved in the incident, who then left the residence, leading police on a pursuit that ended back in the neighborhood. Officers established a perimeter and SWAT responded. After several hours of negotiation during the standoff, the man shot himself. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police later confirmed the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.
