On 06/19/2023, Kerr County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check in the 100 block of Dry Creek Trail West in Mountain Home. During the encounter, authorities reported that the 75-year-old man fired at deputies. Deputies returned fire, striking him. He died from gunshot wounds. The Texas Rangers investigated the shooting.
