OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Chattanooga PD were called to a home on South Kelley Street where a 17-year-old was allegedly threatening people with a gun in a domestic disturbance. Police showed up with SWAT and brought family members out of the home. Police allege the teenager pointed a gun at them. They shot and killed him. TBI who is investigating the incident posted the following on their website: “For reasons still under investigation, the situation escalated, and officers discharged their service weapons, striking the teen. “
His parents later clarified that he was only holding a cell phone during the domestic argument, not a gun. Police killed an unarmed teenager when they invaded the home.
