OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/19/2025, Ewing Township Police Department officers attempted to stop a stolen Kia after receiving a report of the theft. The driver continued driving, leading officers on a pursuit through Ewing. During the pursuit, the Kia ran a red light at the intersection of Prospect Street and Parkway Avenue and crashed into a Subaru carrying four people. A child passenger in the Subaru was ejected from the vehicle and later died from their injuries. The Kia then struck a traffic light pole, which fell onto both the Kia and a police vehicle. The New Jersey Attorney General's Office is investigating the fatal police pursuit crash.
