REASON FOR CHASE: A Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop an Infiniti Q50 for speeding on northbound Interstate 85 at approximately 3:00 a.m. Driver Kenneth Poole continued away from the attempted stop and a pursuit began.
NARRATIVE:
On 04/09/2021, 22-year-old Devin Jones Jr. was killed while riding as a passenger in an Infiniti Q50 that crashed during a Georgia State Patrol pursuit in Atlanta. Fellow passenger Deterrius Minor, 23, was also killed.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop the Infiniti for speeding on northbound Interstate 85. Driver Kenneth Poole continued away from the attempted stop and the trooper pursued.

The pursuit continued onto Georgia 400. Police reported that Poole turned off the Infiniti's headlights while continuing away at high speed.

Poole exited Georgia 400 at Lenox Road. The Infiniti traveled across the intersection, struck a concrete wall, overturned and caught fire.

The trooper reached the wreck and extinguished the fire. Jones and Minor died at the scene. Poole survived with serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.

Jones, Minor and Poole were all from Memphis, Tennessee. The vehicle was registered to Poole.
