NARRATIVE:
On 07/04/2021, an unidentified man in his 30s was killed when a Ford F-150 fleeing San Antonio Police Department officers traveled the wrong way on Interstate 35 and crashed head-on into the Chevrolet Equinox he was driving near U.S. 281 in San Antonio, Texas.

The deceased was completely uninvolved in the police encounter and was traveling in the proper direction on I-35.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., San Antonio police responded near North St. Mary's Street and East Martin Street to reports of gunfire. Police reported hearing additional gunshots coming from a Ford F-150 occupied by two men and attempted to stop the truck. The F-150 driver continued away from police.

The fleeing F-150 traveled the wrong direction on the I-35 frontage road and entered southbound Interstate 35 through the McCullough Avenue exit ramp, traveling north against traffic.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., the F-150 crashed head-on into the bystander's Chevrolet Equinox near the I-35/U.S. 281 interchange. The Equinox driver and both men in the pursued F-150 were pronounced dead at the scene.
