NARRATIVE:
On 02/11/2022, 41-year-old Roberto Chavez of Kansas City was killed when the Buick LaCrosse he was driving left U.S. Highway 169 and overturned while he was fleeing from Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers in Kansas City.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m., Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Chavez. Chavez continued driving and troopers pursued him. Available public reporting does not disclose the violation or other reason that prompted the attempted stop.

Chavez was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 169 near Barry Road when the Buick left the roadway and overturned. Chavez was ejected from the vehicle. A Kansas City Fire Department paramedic pronounced him dead at the scene.
