NARRATIVE:
On 03/17/2022, 28-year-old Jessica Rose Gutierrez Moreno of Santa Maria was killed when the Honda Accord she was driving crashed during a pursuit by the Guadalupe Police Department near Nipomo in San Luis Obispo County.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., a Guadalupe police officer spotted the Honda, which had been reported stolen from the San Luis Obispo area. The officer initiated a pursuit, and Moreno drove southbound on Bonita School Road.

A few minutes into the pursuit, Moreno approached a slight curve on Bonita School Road just south of Division Street. She lost control of the Honda, crossed the northbound lane, traveled onto the dirt shoulder and struck a utility pole along the east side of the roadway.

Guadalupe police officers attempted lifesaving measures, but Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene.
