NARRATIVE:
On 03/19/2022, 21-year-old Damian Javier Garcia of Hereford was killed along with his two teenage passengers, brothers Angel Saenz and Jessie Castro of Clovis, New Mexico, when Garcia crashed during a Texas Department of Public Safety pursuit in Parmer County.

At approximately 9:38 p.m., a DPS trooper attempted to stop Garcia's 2016 Chevrolet Malibu as it traveled eastbound on U.S. Highway 60. Garcia continued east and the trooper pursued him for approximately 18 to 20 miles.

Garcia eventually crossed the median and began traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of U.S. 60. Approximately 10 miles east of Friona, the Malibu collided head-on with a westbound Jeep Wrangler.

Garcia was transported to an Amarillo hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His passengers, 16-year-old Angel Saenz and 15-year-old Jessie Castro, died at the scene. The driver and one passenger in the Jeep suffered serious injuries, while another Jeep passenger suffered minor injuries.
