NARRATIVE:
On 03/27/2022, Ronald Wayne McMunn was fatally injured when his Dodge Challenger crashed into a building and caught fire during a pursuit by the Sperry Police Department in Sperry, Oklahoma.

At approximately 12:15 a.m., a Sperry officer saw the Challenger near 91st Street and North Peoria Avenue and prepared to conduct a traffic stop because of a headlight violation. Before the stop occurred, police said McMunn passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone and accelerated. The officer activated emergency lights and siren and pursued him.

Near 96th Street North and East Main Street, the officer lost sight of the Challenger. Shortly afterward, the officer discovered that the car had crashed into a building at 10 North Cincinnati Avenue. The collision caused the vehicle to catch fire, which spread into the building.

Emergency personnel removed McMunn from the wreckage and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
