NARRATIVE:
On 12/03/2022, 34-year-old Jordan Eastman of Giltner was fatally injured when the Toyota 4Runner he was driving overturned in a ditch near F Road and 11 Road in Hamilton County during a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office pursuit.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., a Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop Eastman’s Toyota 4Runner. Eastman continued driving away from the attempted stop, and the deputy pursued him.

A short time after the attempted traffic stop, Eastman lost control near the intersection of F Road and 11 Road. The 4Runner entered a ditch and overturned. Eastman was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover.

Emergency personnel transported Eastman to Grand Island Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

At the request of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the Nebraska State Patrol took over investigation of the pursuit and fatal crash.
