On February 3, 2025, at approximately 10:05 p.m., Pomona Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting a gunman chasing two individuals near the intersection of Murchison Avenue and Stratus Drive in Pomona, California. Upon arrival, officers encountered a person matching the description provided. According to Lt. Michael Modica of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, the individual produced a firearm, leading to an officer-involved shooting. The individual, identified as Isaac Cannon, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding fire paramedics. A handgun was recovered from the scene. Family members stated that Isaac Cannon was the victim of a robbery and was pursuing the men involved prior to police arrival. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau is assisting in the investigation.

On February 3, 2025, Claremont Police Department officers responded to the 900 block of Fenn Court for a family disturbance involving a restraining order and eviction. When officers arrived, Geoffrey Barton exited the residence with a handgun. Officers shot him. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a few hours later. Barton was known to police from previous encounters at the residence.

On February 3, 2025, Bossier City Police Department officers were involved in an incident in Bossier City, Louisiana. Officers opened fire, and a female was shot and killed during the encounter. The Louisiana State Police is investigating the incident.
