NARRATIVE:
On 12/30/2022, 30-year-old Travonte Eugene Harris of Xenia, Ohio, was killed when his vehicle crashed during a law-enforcement pursuit on Highway 25E in Grainger County, Tennessee.

At approximately 3:44 p.m., Harris was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 northbound on Highway 25E near Kincaid Farm Road while being pursued by law enforcement. Tennessee Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeffrey Poore confirmed the pursuit but the publicly available account did not identify the agency pursuing Harris or state what caused officers to initiate the pursuit.

While attempting to negotiate a left-hand curve, Harris lost control of the Pontiac. The vehicle left the right side of the highway, struck a guardrail and utility pole, continued over an embankment and overturned before coming to rest against a rock wall.
