Woodland PD spotted a vehicle being driven erratically on Saturday afternoon and attempted to pull them over. Policeescalated a chase and as a result, the car collided with two other vehicles, causing two cars to ignite in car fires. One person died and “nearly a dozen” people were injured, according to the police press release. The vehicle had been driven by a 13-year-old who panicked when hunted by police.

Mattherw Roy Chelgren was driving an SUV when a Pennsylvania State Trooper escalated a chase for unknown reasons, attacked him with a PIT maneuver which forced him to crash into a tree and die from what his family states was a slow painful death. Chelgren had been a popular tattoo artist and is described as having been a kind soul. Police did not comment why they created this deadly chase. Chelgren’s family filed suit which states that the reason for the chase was a minor traffic violation.

Joliet PD arrived at a domestic disturbance incident when Jamal Maurice Smith was heard arguing with a woman. Police heard shots fired. They entered and within seconds, they had shot Smith multiple times. One of the bullets had shot his neck. He died in the hospital later.

Tyler Welsh Jr., 30, of Girard was chased by Niles and Liberty police when they discovered that he had a warrant from another jurisdiction for aggravated robbery. He fled and Liberty officers joined Niles PD in the chase. Welsh drove to an empty home and fled inside with numerous officers after him. Police heard a single gunshot in the home and found Welsh dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Blanchard Police received a call about a domestic dispute around 4 a.m. near Highway 76 and Sleepy Hollow Road. Police arrived and were met with gunfire and a shootout between the officers and someone inside the home began. A Blanchard officer was shot in the arm. SWAT arrived and found a man and woman dead inside the home. It is believed that the man had killed the female and then committed suicide under police duress.

Springfield police arrived at a call that a man and a woman who had been seen shoplifting at a convenience store were back. Police arrived and found them in an encampment across the street. Michigan State Police troopers were called to help Berrien County sheriff’s deputies arrest Josh Tanner, 49, for aggravated domestic assault, attempted arson and other warrants. Tanner had run into the woods near Bailey and Townhall roads in Pipestone Township but troopers tracked him with a K9.Police found him “sitting against a tree in the woods, holding a knife to his throat,” whereupon troopers used a taser and arrested him. After moving Tanner out of the woods for “several minutes,” troopers said he experienced a medical emergency and was unresponsive.

Around 7:11 a.m., officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop by SWAT near Metropolitan Parkway SW on a car for undisclosed reasons.When officers stopped the vehicle, they attempted to take him into custody; however, when they approached the man, they noticed that he was armed. Officers allegedly backed away, then heard what sounded like a single gunshot coming from inside the car. The man had committed suicide under police duress. It is unclear why the person was wanted by police. His identity was not disclosed. No officers were charged.

Cuyahoga Falls officers were trying to find a "male in crisis" armed with a gun. On April 5, a state trooper was alerted to a Jeep Cherokee that was wanted out of New York for an alleged abduction of a woman that had occurred earlier that day.The Jeep was driving south on I-95 near the Backlick Road exit in Fairfax County when the trooper pulled the driver over. The trooper made contact with the driver before returning to his patrol car where he positively identified the driver as the wanted abduction person. The trooper began walking back to the Jeep when the driver sped away, struck a guardrail, crashed near the Route 234 exit in Prince William County. The vehicle continued south on I-95.
A number of state troopers joined the chase and positioned themselves around the speeding Jeep. The Jeep reportedly eventually ran off the road near the Quantico exit, crashing into the woods. Someone was shooting from the Jeep. Police began firing back.
The abductor and the abducted passenger Tatiana David were injured. Police said the man was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. David died at the scene. Police steadfastly refuse to say who killed hostage Tatiana David, deputies or her abductor.

TBI Special Agent Zachary Cochran arrived in the 100 block of Wayman Road to arrest John Wilburn on a warrant. For unknown reasons, he shot and killed Wilburn. Wilburn had been a Monroe County deputy forced to resign some years prior for abusing prison inmates in 2012. It is not known why TBI attempted to arrest him and why they shot and killed him in his home.

The daughter of Verhoy called 911, stating her father was very intoxicated and uncooperative and family feels he needed to go to the hospital. Upon questioning by dispatch about weapons, daughter stated that there were kitchen knives and a pellet gun in the house. Police arrived, found him sitting down with pellet gun allegedly pointed at police, was shot dead. Police stress that he had said he wanted to die. Farmington PD were responding to a domestic violence call. After knocking on Robert Dotson’s door twice, they realized they were at the wrong address. Police were conducting surveillance on two Kias reported stolen. Norman Levine III allegedly got into one of the vehicles and when police tried to conduct a traffic stop, he fled and police escalated a long intense chase. A 57-year-old-man locked himself inside a motor home Thursday night as deputies attempted to serve a felony warrant for a probation violation. He was killed during the standoff with SWAT.
Just after 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived in Winona, east of Flagstaff to take Russell McCrory into custody. McCrory allegedly refused to come out of his motor home and police claim he produced a gun. McCrory then told them he did not want to go to jail and would not be taken into custody.The K9 unit and Flagstaff’s Multi-Agency SWAT were deployed. He was shot and killed.

Around 12:16 a.m. on 04/05/2023, police attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver, however, refused to stop and fled until he crashed into another vehicle, killing 39-year-old third party motorist Noe Barron Garcia who had just gotten off third shift and was driving home. Police allege they did not chase the driver but were nearby. Garcia was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

Houston PD investigated a possibly stolen car, walked up to car, ordered the driver out. The man was defensive and did not want to exit. The officer began a fight when the man refused. A man in a green Mercedes-Benz was spotted driving recklessly just after 1 a.m. near Bellfort Avenue and South Wayside Drivein southeast Houston. Police state that the driver was seen driving through stop lights at high speeds when police tried to pull him over. On April 4, 2023, Houston PD officers with the North Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team were conducting surveillance at 2900 Broad Haven Drive on a possible robbery. Dontel Thompson was seen entering a business and robbing employees at gunpoint. Dontel Thompson exited the business with a gun in his hand, jumping a fence into a nearby neighborhood. As officers attempted to arrest Thompson, officer Devin Inocencio exited his patrol vehicle as Thompson was running toward him with a pistol in his hand. Officer Inocencio shot and killed him.

Deputies attempted a traffic stop due to an outstanding warrant. Tedarrius Smith allegedly refused to stop and drove to a dead end where police allege that he exited the vehicle armed with a gun and pointed it at them. Deputies shot and killed him in a grassy area under the bridge near the Collegeville public housing community in the 3000 block of 30th Court North.

Family members of the slain man stood near his body which was draped in a white sheet. Visibly upset, his mother and others insisted the slain 28-year-old did not have a weapon or fire any shots. They also said they believe his wife falsely accused him of kidnapping. He had been a father of nine children.

Per St. Louis PD, their officers were chasing a Kia that had allegedly stolen something from Dollar General. When stop sticks were deployed, the Kia went into North City and crashed into a Blue Infiniti G35. The St. Louis Metro PD then took over the case and reported that third party motorist Jerome Hightowerwhose car the police chase had crashed into had died.
Bystanders said they saw kids being taken out of the Kia after the crash. A police report stated there were two 3-year-olds inside the car at the time of the police chase and crash. The children and two other adults who were inside the car at the time were listed in stable condition following the incident. Jerome Hightower, the driver of the car who was hit by the chase, died.

At least one officer shot at Brandon Harris who was armed with a handgun inside the Burlington Coat Factory in Colorado Springs on 04/03/2023. He had warrants and was driving a stolen vehicle. SWAT opened fire on the car. Brandon Harris fired back and then allegedly committed suicide under police duress.This was contested by protesters who claim that police shot and killed him and covered it up. Michael L. Rogel was shot and killed by Bozeman PD after pointing a firearm and engaging in a shooting with Bozeman Police officers on Monday, April 3, 2023.He himself hadapparently had a mental health crisis and called 911 and allegedly claimed people were coming to his house to kill him. He left the residence in his vehicle. Officers located the vehicle with him inside. He allegedly had a gun and pointed it at officers. James Corey Donald was being escorted out of The Rock Pentecostal Church when the off-duty officer instigated an altercation. The off-duty deputy punched Donald in the face and chased him into a parking lot before shooting him and kicking him in the head. A 42-year-old Gladstone man died Monday of suicide under police duress during an armed standoff that began with a domestic disturbance call. Gladstone PD were dispatched around 1:30 p.m. to the 400 block of Northeast 75th Terrace on a reported domestic disturbance. The call concerned a man who was armed with a gun. The woman exited the residence while the man remained inside. A tactical response team with the Clay County Sheriff’s department was called in along with other area law enforcement agencies. Hours later, officers entered the home to find the man dead of an apparent gunshot wound.
