NARRATIVE:
On 09/30/2023, an unidentified person was killed when a vehicle crashed during a San Francisco Police Department chase on U.S. 101 near the Paul Street off-ramp.

At approximately 4:04 p.m., officers assigned to Tenderloin Station saw a vehicle that police said was wanted in connection with an armed robbery and auto burglaries. Officers were preparing to stop the vehicle when it fled before the traffic stop began. Officers pursued the vehicle, and the chase continued onto the highway.

Near the Paul Street off-ramp at San Bruno Avenue and Mansell Street, the fleeing vehicle crashed into a fixed object. Police removed both occupants from the vehicle. One occupant was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was transported to a hospital.
