OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Joshua Kersey was intoxicated and took his sister’s car keys. Worried, she called police to try to get him to surrender the car keys and not drive drunk. Police arrived and the situation escalated rapidly. The intoxicated Kersey forced a family member into a bedroom and locked himself in. Police forcibly entered, allege that he held a knife and shot and killed him. Only the police narrative exists at this point.
