OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Joseph Ramos was in a mental health crisis in a vehicle threatening to kill himself. Bernalillo SWAT showed up, deployed drones, police K9s, militarized SWAT bearing down on the man in the vehicle for 12 hours until Deputy Joshua Mora fired a single shot in the back of his head, killing him. Ramos never fired his gun.
This was the third killing for Deputy Mora who placed spike strips, chased by a helicopter for 20 miles, initiated a PIT maneuver and shot and killed Martin Jim and his passenger Isaac Padilla both for allegedly driving a stolen vehicle.
