Sonny Ray Holland Sr. was locked into a home with his 2 children after a domestic violence report. He was under police siege for 18 hours when the house was noted to be on fire. Police fired liquid gas canisters into the home and set the house on fire with Holland inside. Holland walked out and was shot and killed. Police allege that he had fired shots at police.
