OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Someone called 911 and reported hearing shots, alleging someone had been shot. Lansing PD arrived, found a man and shot and killed him. Police allege that a handgun was “recovered at the scene” but did not say whether it was on him or had been held, pointed or fired at police or anyone in their presence. No shot or injured persons were reported to have been found. It is unclear from the information released so far why police felt they had to kill this person.
