OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Brandon Duvall, 32, was reportedly involved in domestic violence situation and Smith County Sheriff’s deputies were to the 23000 block of County Road 459 in the northwestern portion of the county. Police arrived and Duvall allegedly pointed a pistol at them but did not shoot and instead fled in a vehicle. While officers chased the fleeing vehicle, Duvall lost control of it and struck a power pole at the end of his driveway. Shots were reportedly heard. It is unclear whether Duvall fired any gun or if the deputies did all the shooting but at the end of the confrontation, Duvall was dead. Police admit that a child was present on premises when he was shot to death. No officers were charged.
