Bibb County deputies arrived at a mental health crisis call to perform a mental health welfare check and found a man locked inside of his home. Police created a standoff and the man committed suicide under police duress. Neighbors openly stated that the law enforcement presence was a stressful overreaction to the situation and that police were not a good way to address mental health crises.
