Deontray Flanagan appeared at his daughter’s daycare and picked her up, apparently during a custody battle. According to the mother, Houston PD took a long time to get in SWAT gear and during the time lapse, he took his daughter for a drive and was soon chased in a wild pursuit. When he stopped, the toddler had severe head trauma and died. He allegedly called the girl’s mother on FaceTime and showed her that the girl was being beaten and strangled during the pursuit. The mother states that the police response destabilized an already unstable individual and resulted in the death of a toddler. He was charged with murder. No officers were charged.
