Lubbock PD were initially called to a crash in the eastbound lanes of the 4300 block of South Loop 289. Shortly after the first officer arrived, Lubbock PD said Officer Wesley Haulk was getting ready to get out when his vehicle was hit from behind by a pickup driven by Santos Donez Jr.Donezdied. No officers were charged.
