Lawrence PD were sent a residence near 46th Street and Burrwood Drive to arrest 2 people on a warrant for a previous incidentwhere shots were fired in a neighborhood.SWAT also arrived and surrounded the home. A man was seen going out at the back of the home. Police allege that heshot and injured a Lawrence officer. The man went back inside of the home, re-emerged with a female and they got into a car and tried to leave. Police allege shots were fired from the car and officers shot and killed the man and injured the female. The man was identified as 30-year-old Daylen Oatts.Five officers fired guns and police admit to "significant" exchange of bullets. No officers were charged.
