OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Tyre Nichols, 29, was pulled over for “reckless driving”, was severely beaten by seven Memphis special ops SCORPION officers and died in the hospital days later. Five officers were fired while the sixth, Preston Hemphill, was finally fired much later and “temporarily” decertified. Attackers were MPD officers Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., Justin Smith, and Preston Hemphill. No officers were charged.
