OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
A woman called police and reported that her boyfriend was behaving erratically and had a knife. She left the house and he locked himself in with her son. Riverside County deputies arrived and tried to rescue the child and one of the deputies was hit in the head with a wooden object and the man then swung a machete. Police shot and killed him. The condition of the child was not reported. No officers were charged.
