OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 02/28/2023 at approximately 1:45 p.m., New Jersey State Police troopers and U.S. Marshals located 29-year-old Kyle Foggy in the Clara Barton Service Area on the southbound New Jersey Turnpike in Pedricktown, Salem County while officers were attempting to apprehend him in connection with a murder investigation. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office later determined that Foggy died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound sustained in the presence of law enforcement. He was transported to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware, where he was pronounced dead later that night. The Attorney General’s Office Integrity Bureau continued its review of the incident. The self-inflicted nature of the wound was confirmed by state officials.
