Arriving at a wellness check for a man in mental health crisis, Cary PD found a man barricaded in a home at the Windsor apartments on Walnut Street. After hours of standoff and police firing a “distraction device”, SWAT entered the residence and a shootout ensued. The man’s 1-year-old son was injured. The man died from suicide under police duress.
