LAPD chased after a young man they felt was stealing catalytic converters and escalated a chase at high speed, then “called off the chase” as crash was imminent. The car crashed into the Balderas family, killing Michaela Balderas, her husband Flavio Balderas and James Griffin whom police had been chasing.
