ort Lee PD received a call regarding a man with a knife threatening people in a residence and throwing pots and pans out of the window. When police arrived, they found Mohamed Bounaouar who allegedly had a knife. Officers Gabriel Avella, John Gallo, Stephen Domenick and Matthew Lyle shot and killed him with an unknown number of shots.
