John Figueroa Jr. was known to be depressed and struggling with some mental health problems. It is unknown why but he took a CHP cruiser and fled in it.Police put down often-lethal spike strips. He saw them, jumped out of the car and died on pavement.The man had been hunted by numerous police cars, a police helicopter while the chase had been shown Live on TV as a form of news entertainment.
