San Antonio PDallege that Palafox shot a man in the leg during an argument. Palafox drove away after the shooting. Police went to Palafox's house off South Mesquite Street. When police arrived, Palafox reportedly "positioned himself between two cars with the doors open" to shield himself and opened fire on police. Officers Christian Valadez, Detective Regino Segura and Detective James Kirk shot and killed Palafox.
