The Sandy Police Department was called to a mental health crisis and found the man walking in the area of 11650 S. Eagle Bend Road. Police said he lived in the area. They allege that they continued to follow him from a distance and then at some point, something took place and the officer shot the man to death. The family initially called police for help but is outraged at the shooting as the man was unarmed and known to police to be no threat.
