OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Jeffrey Carlson reportedly shot a 79-year-old woman and tried to carjack a vehicle in the 5700 block of California Avenue, but failed. Sgt. Michael Hunnicutt saw Carlson with a pistol in his hand and ordered him to the ground. Carlson reportedly raised his pistol under his chin and fired, shooting himself in the head. Hunnicutt fired his weapon but police claim Hunnicutt’s bullet did not hit Carlson.
