Port Orange PD attempted to do a traffic stop on a blue Honda around midnight at the intersection of Nova Road and Madeline Avenue.The driver fled. Police escalated a chase and the car eventually crashed into the parking lot of John's Appliance on Beville Road, about 2.5 miles away. Montrail Johnson died. Port Orange PD did not explain why they initiated this deadly chase.
