OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Officers were dispatched to a house on South Broadway for a welfare check on a teenager in apparent mental health crisis. When police arrived, he jumped out of a window with two knives. Police allege that he began to run toward the officers. He was tasered and then shot by officers Michael Martinez and David Pino outside the home. The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The killing was justified by the District Attorney.
