Police allege that Brendon Burns may have been involved in other crimes as he was spotted on Milburn Street. He ran away defensively. Police chased him through several yards. The chase ended on Barrington Street where he allegedly pointed a shotgun at officers. Officers Christian DeVinney, Clayton Hillegeer, Alexandra Baker, William Baker and Kevin Leckinger shot and killed him. He was killed in the Park Avenue area, not far from Francis Parker School No. 23, which went into lockout as a result of the incident.
