OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Lordstown Village Police Department, Vienna Township Police Department, and Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office went to the 1400 block of SR 7 just after 1 a.m. in response to a 911 call reporting that a “dangerous suspect” was trespassing in a cabin on the private property. Police recognized the man as Fred Wild, known to officers from prior incidents. Police allege that Wild jumped from the cabin window, got into a stolen pickup truck with a snow plow and charged at them in the truck. Several officers shot and killed him.
