Dallas Police were called to 1910 Bennett Avenue that a man believed to be involved in a stolen vehicle case earlier this month was present at the location. They encountered Hernan Gutierrez in a parking lot. Police fought with him, attempted to use a taser on him. Police allege that Gutierrez pulled out a gun and fired one round. Officer Esquivel pulled out her handgun and shot one time, hitting Gutierrez. Gutierrez fell down, was handcuffed and died.
