Henrico Police arrived at the 4000 Cox Road for a possible theft of a cell phone around 4:40 p.m. Upon arriving, a juvenile boy and one woman took off, ran from the police, crossing Dominion Blvd towards Sadler Rd. Henrico PD alleges that during the chase, one of the two people fired a weapon at the officers. Police shot back, critically injuring the juvenile who later died.
